Amazing as always! The food is unbelievable and the staff are amazing! If you are lucky enough to have Cat as your server ... cherish her! I hope Zizi's bosses know how lucky they are to have you! Thanks for a lovely night! See you again soon!

Food is always excellent and great service. Last evening we were served by Dan and Hollie B who were both fantastic. Previous visits we’ve been served by Cat and Toby also both fantastic. Dorchester has a great team and great food and it’s such a joy to eat there

We came here as a treat after SATS for our 10year old son. The food was good and most of the staff were really lovely. Toby H who took our orders and served us for most of the meal was so friendly and helpful. I’ve taken 1 star off for service just because one of the staff members who served us our desserts really looked like he didn’t want to be there🙈 and left us with no cutlery to eat it with! But another lovely waitress sorted it for us quickly. Other than that a lovely evening, thank you.

Having visited Zizzi many times over the years without issue, it is genuinely disappointing to say that this evening’s visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons. We arrived without a booking and politely asked whether there was any availability for two, even offering to sit outside. We were immediately met with a cold and dismissive response from what appeared to be a supervisor or manager: “So you haven’t booked? We can’t accommodate you. We have 100 people due within the next hour.” Interestingly, your own online booking system contradicted this almost instantly, showing a table available to reserve five minutes later. We made the booking while standing outside the restaurant, returned moments later, and were seated without any issue whatsoever. It certainly didn’t create the impression of a restaurant on the brink of being overwhelmed by an incoming crowd of 100 people! From there, the evening continued to decline. We were told to order via the app because “nobody was free to help.” Unfortunately, the app didn’t work for us — nor for the only other occupied table outside. Despite this, no effort appeared to be made to assist us for quite a while. Our starter eventually arrived after 1 hour and 10 minutes, which is excessive by any standard, busy restaurant or otherwise. Both my partner and I have worked in hospitality, and my partner specifically has worked at Zizzi Dorchester, so we fully understand pressure, staffing challenges, and busy services. What is far harder to understand — or excuse — is poor attitude, dismissive customer interaction, and making guests feel like an inconvenience before they have even sat down! The real shame is that the food itself was lovely, and a young girl on what we were told was her first day was genuinely warm, welcoming, and friendly — qualities that unfortunately seemed absent elsewhere this evening. It screams volumes when the newest member of staff delivers the best hospitality experience of the night. Sadly, what should have been a relaxed and enjoyable evening instead left us feeling frustrated, undervalued, and unlikely to rush back.

I visited Zizi’s in Dorchester last night with a colleague from work, and honestly, it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked through the door, Ellie made us feel incredibly welcome. She greeted us with such warmth and professionalism and immediately created a lovely atmosphere for the evening. She showed us to our table, made sure we were comfortable, and was so accommodating throughout our visit. Nothing felt like too much trouble for her, and her friendly, approachable manner really stood out. First impressions matter, and Ellie absolutely set the tone for what turned out to be an amazing night. Our waitress, Cat, was absolutely exceptional. She was so friendly and attentive, regularly checking in to make sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. Her knowledge of the menu was outstanding, and her recommendations were spot on. It’s clear she genuinely cares about giving customers a great experience. We even ended up having a lovely 5–10 minute chat with her at the end while paying the bill, which really added such a personal touch to the evening. The food itself was incredible — every dish was delicious, and the portion sizes were extremely generous. We were there for around three hours and enjoyed every single minute of it. Amazing food, fantastic atmosphere, and truly outstanding staff. Huge thank you to Ellie and Cat for making our evening so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!
